Basic Biographical Details Name: | William A Robb | Designation: | | Born: | 1887 | Died: | 11 January 1923 | Bio Notes: | William Alexander Robb was born in 1887 to Police Constable James Robb and his wife Margaret Robertson. He studied at Glasgow School of Art, gaining several scholarships and prizes. Thereafter he was articled to John Archibald Campbell, remaining as assistant with Campbell & Hislop and was 'engaged on important buildings for which they were reponsible'. During this period be made several study tours in Italy and on the Continent. He then secured a post as architect to the Caledonian Railway Company, later the London Midland and Scottish Railway Company and was 'held in high esteem' by his his employers.
