Name: J & J Cameron
Designation:
Born:

Bio Notes: John Cameron senior of whom no early details are known was described in the Post Office Directories from 1897 as a 'builder and surveyor of house property' and from 1902 as an 'architect and licensed valuator'. In about 1900 he took George Watt into partnership as Cameron & Watt. They were prolific designers of houses, probably some speculatively, from about 1900-1906 and after. The partnership was dissolved in 1910 and at some point thereafter Cameron took his son, also John, into the pracice. The firm of J & J Cameron was 'responsible for the erection of many houses in new residential districts in Aberdeen'. The relationship between the firm of J & J Cameron and Cameron & Matthew is as yet uncertain.

John Cameron senior died in May 1941. He is described in his obituary as 'well-known'.
