Basic Biographical Details Name: | Corrie & Craig | Designation: | | Born: | 1874 or 1875 | Died: | c. 1879 | Bio Notes: | James Corrie was born c.1823, the son of Richard Corrie, farmer and his wife Mary Caven. He married Helen Chalmers and commenced independent practice relatively late, in 1874 or 1875 at 125 West Regent Street, Glasgow, in partnership with James Jackson Craig, who had been born c.1841, the son of Robert Craig, farmer and his wife Isabella Jackson.
On 15 September 1875 Craig married Lilias Morton, the daughter of a potato merchant, James Morton at Stonelaw Farm, Rutherglen. This Rutherglen connection brought him the appointment of burgh surveyor there.
