Notes: Ewing obtained the commission through his connection with the Drummond Castle estate. Clementina Elizabeth Drummond-Willoughby, the 24th Baroness Willoughby de Eresby, who had inherited Drummond Castle, had also inherited the Gwydir Estate, which contained the parishes of Dolwyddelan and Llanrwst in North Wales. The De-Wolfs rented the shooting rights from the Gwydir Estate at Dolwyddelan, around 1875.
