At a joint -meeting of the Park and Building Committees Present Mr Robinson, Bailie Caird, Mr Fulton, Mr Crawford, Mr Strachan, and Mr M'Geoch The Convener of the Park Committee in the Chair
The Committee agreed to employ Mr P M Chalmers, Architect, Partick, to prepare sketch plans of, and make up or obtain approximate estimated for the proposed Fossil-House, on the footing that if the work did not go on he should be paid a fee of £5 5/, but in the event of the work being proceeded with he should receive five per cent on the cost (the fee however not to exceed £20) this sum to cover his fees for preliminary work, as well as for all plans ( with any alterations thereon) and estimated, including superintendence of the work. Mr Chalmers who was in attendance was called in and agreed to these terms. The Committee instructed Mr Chalmers to prepare a sketch plan, and discussed with him the points referred to in last minute.
