Notes: Morris had originally intended to give the house a copper roof, but finally decided to choose 18” long cedar shingles. The front door and windows are also of cedar, while the internal panelling is Douglas fir.

MacAlpine Builders were the main contractors and also carried out the joiner work. The house took 7 months to build and cost £7/sq ft (it is 6,500 sq ft). Frank Tindall was the planning officer for East Lothian Council.

The house won a Civic Trust Award in 1971.
