| Notes: | This house was recently erected at Davidson’s Mains near Edinburgh. The materials employed were local stone with roughcast with stone dressings of doorways and other hewn work from Prudham Quarry. The slates were Ballaculish or Eusdale, with a certain proportion of Craiglea slates worked in. The total cost, including laying out of grounds, professional fees, etc was £2,400. [British Architect 15 January 1909 Page 40]. N.B. The British Architect describes this house as being at Davidson's Mains. However the address is in Barnton Avenue which is really between Barnton and Davidson's Mains. |
