First scheme for major remodelling 1893; design of tower subsequently revised with high roof. Final scheme 1899 but work begun much earlier, design constantly revised while in progress, continued until 1911, but main work completed 1903.

This fine country house has been lately completed near Inverness and forms one of the best examplars of a picturesque modern house with which we are acquainted. ..... [British Architect 10 July 1903 p21]

Illustrations in the British Architect included a full page photograph of a portion of the south front together with sketches made by the architect.
