Notes: HAWICK.—In August last year the new Free Church of St. Andrews was begun, and is now nearly completed. The church is being erected from the designs of Mr. Rochead, architect, Glasgow. The interior is capable of accommodating more than 900 sitters, while underneath the church there is a hall for Sabbath schools, etc. This hall can accommodate about 200 people. The height of the spire is to be about 103 feet. The estimated cost of the building will bo about £3,000. [Building News 26 March 1869 p282]
