The block consists of shops and warehouses on the basement, ground and entresol floors and dwelling houses etc above. The doorways, with the rest of the ground and entresol floors are faced with Greek marble, the enrichments being of cast bronze produced by the cire perdue process. The upper floors contain twelve large dwelling houses which are approached by a handsome staircase and elevator. The principal contractors were Messrs P and W Anderson Limited; the clerk of works was Mr William Bone and the architect Mr T L Watson
