The present hall is being built on the site of the hall used by the Hopetoun Lodge, No. 181, now dormant. The new building is being constructed from plans by Mr. Peter L. Henderson, architect, Edinburgh, and is of two stories in height, having club premises and a caretaker's house on the ground flat and the hall or lodge_room on the upper fiat, which is approached by a wide staircase, lighted by a window in the back wall, and consists of a hall 37feet long by 2l feet broad, and retiring_rooms and lavatories. The hall is lighted by a row of five windows to Jarvie-street, the centre one being an oriel window projecting over the entrance doorway, and supported by the keystone of same. Externally these windows are separated by carved, Ionic columns, after the German Renaissance style. The entrance doorway is massive, with deeply moulded jambs and archivolt, the latter broken by moulded rusticated voussoirs and keystone.
