Notes: £2,000 raised by January 1839 and competition held. 22 designs submitted. When the competition was judged in February 1840 the design submitted by Scott Stephen & Gale was selected although by that date the partnership must have been dissolved.


Designed as a memorial to Archibald Campbell of Blythswood (d.1838). It was an ambitious Greek revival building with features from well-known Athenian monuments.

Largely demolished.
