Reinforced concrete contractor James Scott & Co. of Aberdeen. It was constructed in 1911-12 for James Duncan entirely in Mouchel-Hennebique ferro-concrete, apart from a timber roof. Evidence exists both in the form of plans and a list of Mouchel-Hennebique works published by L.G. Mouchel in 1920. See thesis by Dr Patricia Cusack (University of Edinburgh (pp. 481-82; 543, 545), you can find quite a bit of detail about Tillycorthie, known as the "Spanish Villa". | Building Type ClassificationThe building is classified under the following categories: | | Classification | Original classification? | Notes | | House | | |
