Bio Notes: Sydney Smirke was botn in 1841, the son of Sydney Smirke, architect. He was articled to his father from 1855-62 after which he travelled to the United States and settled in Philadelphia. He commenced independent practice there in 1870. From 1877-79 he travelled in Eurpoe and returned to England in about 1880.

He died on 5 June 1912.
