Bio Notes: Robert Charles Stones was probably born in 1917 in Chorlton, Lancashire. He studied for the degree of BArch at Liverpool and was elected ARIBA in 1941. He was also a qualified town planner.

In about 1950 he was living in Manchester but by about 1953 had a post with East Kilbride Development Corporation. He had returned to Manchester by 1956.
