Bio Notes: John Gordon was born about 1865, the son of John Gordon, architect, who had been born in Banffshire about 1830. The family had moved to Aberdeen by 1871. John Gordon junior was a civil engineer by training. He became deputy assistant burgh surveyor of Aberdeen before 1900 and was appointed burgh surveyor in 1915. He resigned from ill-health some time before 1926.
