Bio Notes: John Corstorphine was born in Kingsbarns in Fife. He appears among the nobility and gentry in Pigot's 'Directory' of 1825-6. He seems to have been both an architect and a builder. He lived in Kingsbarns House in 1794. A panel with this date and architect's instruments appear in the house.

He died on 23 August 1826. There is a mural monument to him in Kingsbarns Churchyard.
