Bio Notes: John Gilchrist Skinner studied for the diploma in architecture at Edinburgh College of Art and was elected ARIBA in 1965. His address that year is given as being in Surrey which may be his parental home or he may have had a job in that area.

He seems to have returned to Edinburgh at some point before 1970. By 1979 he had a post with the SSHA where he was assistant principal architect. He remained with the SSHA until the 1980s but may have retired by 1994. He was responsible for the SSHA redevelopment work in the centre of Arbroath.
