He may have had a post in HM Office of Works in London and may have met his furture wife, Catherine Mary Helen Henderson, also an architect, in the office. They married in 1940 in Chicester. He would seem to have been living in Surrey in the early 1950s but moved to Edinburgh to a post with the Ministry of Works in the mid-1950s. He was elected FRIAS in 1965. He is not listed in the 1979 directory.
