He studied at the School of Architecture in Aberdeen and was elected ARIBA in 1968. In 1970 he was living in Glasgow. By the early 1970s he was living (and working?) in Renfrewshire. In 1979 he was working for the English practice Norman & Dawbarn who had an office in Glasgow. By 1984 he had moved to Aberdeen to work for Lister Drew & Associates.
