Basic Biographical Details Name: | Donald William Bain | Designation: | | Born: | 3 November 1931 | Died: | | Bio Notes: | Donald William Bain was born in Wick on 3 November 1931, the son of Donald William Sinclair Bain, shipbroker, and his wife Elizabeth Ann More. He studied at the School of Architecture in Aberdeen and was awarded the diploma in 1956. He was elected ARIBA in 1957. He moved to Northern Ireland to a post with the Northern Ireland Housing Trust in Belfast. In 1965 he was working for Livingston New Town Development Corporation.
By about 1970 he was in Edinburgh. He may have moved from his post with Livingston New Town to a position with Lothian Region Department of Architectural Services which is where he was in 1979. He remained there until at least 1984.
