He very probably studied architecture at Edinburgh College of Art. He was elected ARIBA and ARIAS in 1956. By 1960 he was working at the headquarters of the Public Works Department in Ibadan, Nigeria. By 1966 he had returned to Scott and was working with A D Haxton & Watson in Leven. His home address was still in Leven in 1970.
