Bio Notes: Gordon William Hamilton Mechan was born in Richmond, Surrey in the summer of 1929. He was elected a student member of the RIBA in 1949. He studied at Dundee College of Art and was elected ARIBA in 1951 (and ARIAS in 1964). He worked in the City Architects Department in Dundee in the later 1950s. He remained in Dundee thereafter until at least 1987.

He died on 30 August 2012.
