Bio Notes: Hamish McLachlan was born in 1920 and studied at the Edinburgh College of Art from 1937. His studies were interrupted by war service from 1940 to 1946, and he finally received his diploma in 1948. He worked as assistant in the practice of Basil Spence & Partners from 1949 to 1952. He then moved to London where he joined YRM.

McLachlan died on 22 June 2011 in Exemouth, Devon.
