Basic Biographical Details

Name: Gustav Mandle
Designation:
Born:
Died:
Bio Notes: Gustav Mandle was Austrian by birth (originally Mandl). He seems to have been naturalised in the UK in 1948 at which time he was living in Highgate, London and was an assistant architect. He was elected ARIBA in 1949. The following year he seems to have moved to a post in Coventry. From at least 1953 if not before he was working for the East Kilbride Development Corporation. However in the later 1960s he would seem to have had the post of Burgh Architect of Motherwell. He was elected ARIAS in 1965. He returned to East Kilbride and RIBA directories suggest he was still there in 1970. He is no longer listed in the RIBA Directory for 1979.
