He was a student member of the RIBA from 1947. His address was in Glasgow. He was elected ARIBA in 1952 by which time he was living in Lanarkshire and was almost certainly an employee of the East Kilbride Development Corporation. He disappears from Directories after 1960.
Reid died at Hairmyres Hospital aged 38 on 6 February 1963.
