Basic Biographical Details Name: | Angus Bowie MacMillan | Designation: | | Born: | 31 August 1920 | Died: | | Bio Notes: | Angus Bowie MacMillan was born on 31 August 1920 at Emervale, Kildalton, the son of Gilbert McMillan, carter, of Anderston, Glasgow, and his wife Elizabeth Bowie who had married in Glasgow in 1915. He was elected a student member of the RIBA in 1948. He studied at the School of Architecture Glasgow School of Art and was elected ARIBA in 1950. In 1953 he is listed as DFC. By 1960 he had moved to Middlessex and was a partner in the practice R J A Wilson & MacMillan. In 1963 he gave his address as being in Bothwell, Lanarkshire. By 1965 he had moved to Worcester and was practising as MacMillan & Morrison in which practice he remained until at least 1975. They both lived in Lanarkshire in their early years and may have had an early connection there. Although his address was in Worcester James Morrison seesm to have remained in Scotland. The practice worked in association with Douglas Marriott, Worby & Robinson in the mid-1970s. MacMillan is later listed as living in Cheltenham (1979).
