He was stationed at the Royal Navy Air Station in Lossiemouth in 1948. He was elected ARIBA in 1949. He was practising in England by the early 1950s. He returned to Scotland and was in Glasgow in 1960 (he was elected ARIAS in 1965) and in Cumbernauld in 1970 where he remained until his death the following year on 22 February 1971.
