Basic Biographical Details Name: | (Dr) Peter David McGovern | Designation: | | Born: | 2 January 1927 | Died: | 17 February 2007 | Bio Notes: | Peter David McGovern was born in Ulster on 2 January 1927, the son of David Newlands McGovern, school janitor, and his wife Margaret Luke. He graduated BSc in Economics, as well as holding the degrees of MSc and PhD, probably in town planning and/or architecture. He was Assistant Chief Planning Officer in Livingston New Town from 1963 to 1967. At some point in the 1960s, he was also part of a team under Percy Johnson-Marshall which acted as planning consultants to Sir Robert Matthew on the Belfast Regional Plan.
