Basic Biographical Details

Name: Thomas Barclay
Designation:
Born: Late 1700s
Died: Early 1800s
Bio Notes: Thomas Barclay was a master mason of Balbirnie, Fife. Little is known about him other than a few buildings which he designed or to which he made additions. He seems to have been one member of a family of masons. Both George and James Barclay are referred to in correspondence along with Thomas. Their relationship is yet to be established. It seems possible that Thomas and George were brothers and James who was more architect than mason was a son.
