He worked in Aberdeen City Architect's Department in the 1960s. Before 1970 he seems to have had a teaching post at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture. He formed a partnership with Peter Grant as Grant & Heddle around 1970 - perhaps running concurrently with his teaching.
