He studied at Glasgow School of Art and was elected ARIBA in 1953 and ARIAS the following year. In the 1970s he worked for the Lanark County Architects Department. He would appear to have retired by 1990.
He was a retired ARIAS at the time of his death at home in Stonehouse, Lanarkshire on 12 December 2001.
