Basic Biographical Details Name: | Graeme John Selwyn Dore | Designation: | | Born: | 11 June 1956 | Died: | 27 June 2002 | Bio Notes: | Graeme John Selwyn Dore was born on 11 June 1956, the son of Graham Byron Dore, a telephone engineer, and his wife June Margaret Woolhouse or Wood, a retired state registered nurse. From 1972-77 he attended Sheffield Technical College where he passed the ONC and HNC in building. He studied architecture at Huddersfield Polytechnic from 1977-79 and from 1980-84, being awarded the degree of BArch and a diploma in architecture.
From 1982-83 he worked as architect with the Dodd Jamieson Partnership and from 1983-85 as senior architect with Oliver & Robb in Fife. He then moved to Wann McLaren as associate and during the sdame period was project director of TMI (the Nursing Home subsidiary of Cochrane McGregor). From 1993 he was Co-Director of Hackland & Dore.
Dore was an active member of the Edinburgh Architectural Association and served as junior vice-president from 1999-2000, senior vice-president from 2001-2002, and a member of the EAA Social Events Committee. He was also the EAA representative on the RIAS Town Planning, Public Affairs and Communications Committees.
He died on 27 June 2002 at St Columba's Hospice, Edinburgh.
