Bio Notes: George Meehan was presumably Scottish. He was born on 30 (or 13?) August 1920, the son of George Meehan, school teacher and his wife, Sara Whiteside, also a school teacher. He studied at Glasgow School of Architecture from 1939 to 1950, the years 1940-46 spent in war service. He was working for the Public Works Department, Kuala Lumpur at the time of his election to Fellowship of the RIBA in 1959. He worked in the Architect's Department of the Bank of Ireland, Head Office, Lower Baggot Street, Dublin. He returned to Scotland at some point after this.

He died of pneumonia and hepatorenal syndrome on 31 March 2004 at the Royal Infirmary, Stirling, survived by his wife, Elizabeth Mackin.
