Bio Notes: Ronald Lindsay Valentine was born about 1939 in Tealing in Angus. His family moved when he was young to Montrose and he was educated at the Academy there. He studied at Dundee College of Art and was nominated best student of his final year, 1960-61. He took a post as assistant with Baxter Clark & Paul in 1964. He moved to work for Livingston Development Corporation where he remained for four years but returned to Dundee to a post with Dundee District Council in the 1970s. He worked as senior architect with Bett Brothers until 1980 when he went into private practice. In 1984 he was practising as Steval Design Partnership. However by 1994 he was practising as Ronald L Valentine from his home address.

For some years prior to his death he worked from home because of ill-health. He died 24 September 2001, survived by his wife Morag and his daughter and son.

Valentine was involved with many award-winning developments.
