Bio Notes: Robert ('Bob') Thomson was born on 9 April 1928. He was elected a student member of the RIBA in 1951. He studied at Edinburgh College of Art and was elected ARIBA in 1956. About that time he was living in Buckhaven. He would seem to have spent a short period of time with Glenrothes New Town Development Corporation in the mid-1950s. He moved to a post in Stevenage, Hertfordshire in 1957. By about 1960 he must have resigned from the RIBA as he is not listed about this time or afterwards.

He later became principal architect, Cumbernauld Development Corporation. He retired February 1985.
