Bio Notes: Larmont Douglas Penman junior was the son of Larmont Douglas Penman, architect. He studied for the diploma course at Glasgow School of Art and the Royal Technical College spending four years taking day classes and one year of evening classes. He sat his fanal exam at Glasgow School of Art in 1940. Between sessions he worked in the office of J & J A Carrick in Ayr. He was elected ARIBA in 1942, his proposers being William James Smith, Jack Coia and Alexander Wright.

After the completion of his training he took a post as plant draughtsman with the Scottish Stamping and Engraving Company in Ayr. He was still there at the time of his election to the RIBA.

By the early 1950s he had moved to Somerset to work with Messrs Petter, Warren & Roydon Cooper. He later moved to work in the practice of Messrs S N Cooke & Partners in Birmingham and in 1979 to Biddenham in Bedfordshire. In 1987 his address was in Bristol. He died in Somerset. His death was registered in July 2000.
