Bio Notes: John Marnoch Legge was born on 20 June 1936 and received his diploma in architecture at Aberdeen. He became an associate in the firm of Sir Basil Spence, Glover & Ferguson in January 1969 (the year in which he was elected ARIBA) and was made a partner in 1973. When the firm closed in 1992, he set up the practice of Legge Associates Chartered Architects in Dalkeith with Bengt Ericsson, with offices in the former Bank of Scotland, Eskbank Toll. His two sons, both quantity surveyors, were also in the firm, which subsequently adopted the title Legge Ericsson Architects.

John Marnoch Legge died in late 2000. The practice was continued by Ericsson as Ericsson Architects Ltd.
