Bio Notes: Stuart Duncan was born on 28 February 1928, the son of Hugh Duncan, butcher, and his wife Edith Catherine Nicoll. He studied for the diploma in architecture in Aberdeen and was elected ARIBA in 1955 and ARIAS in 1964. He was based in Buckie in the 1960s and 1970s where he worked for the County Council (later the Department of Architectural Services, Northern Area, Grampian Regional Council). He later moved to Elgin. He retired about 1991 and was transferred to the retired class of the RIAS in 2001. He died on 22 February 2003 at his home in Elgin, survived by his wife, Mina Weir.
