Bio Notes: Wiliam George Cowie (generally known as Bill)studied at the School of Architecture in Aberdeen and was elected ARIBA in 1972. In the early 1970s he worked in the Aberdeen office of the practice of Baxter Clark & Paul. He remained in Aberdeen and formed a partnership with Matthew W Merchant as Datum Design. This closed in about 1978 leaving William Cowie to practise independently as William G Cowie Architects. In 1986 he took Harry McNab into partnership, the name of the firm becoming the William Cowie Partnership. He was still in practice under this name in 1994.
