He studied at the University of Cambridge from 1969 to 1975. Later that year he joined Foster Associates but in 1978 moved to Richard Rogers & Partners. In 1983 he formed a partnership with John McAslan as Troughton McAslan Architects. From 1996-98 he was chairman of the renamed firm John McAslan & Partners but formed an association with Hugh Broughton in the latter year which continued until 2003.
He has been responsible for a wide range of buildings including the Apple Headquarters at Stockley Park, Canary Wharf FC3, - Paddington Heathrow express - Stratford and Canning Town Jubilee line stations. He was also responsible for alterations to Blair Castle, which is his home. |
