Basic Biographical Details Name: | Francis George Broadbent | Designation: | | Born: | c. 1910 | Died: | January 1983 | Bio Notes: | Francis George Broadbent was in partnerhip with Harry Stuart Goodhart-Rendel from 1947 and senior partner from 1949. H Lewis Curtis joined the practice at some point. Subsequently he was senior partner in Broadbent Hastings Reid & New where he remained until his retirement in 1980.
Broadbent was known for his work for the Catholic Church, both eccelsiastical work and for the Diocesan Educational Authorities, in particular for Southwark Archdiocese. He designed churches and schools throughout the southern part of the UK, particularly in suburban and rural areas. The restoration of Prinknash Abbey, begun by Goodhart-Rendel in 1939 and completed by Broadbent, is one of his greatest achievements.
He died in January 1983. |
