He was elected a student member of the RIBA in 1953. His home address was in Buckie. He studied at the School of Architecture in Aberdeen and was elected ARIBA in 1956 and ARIAS in 1964. He worked for Inverness County Architect's Office by 1967. He was still in this post in 1979. He had probably retired by 1987 as he gives his home address in the RIBA directory but is no longer listed in 1994.
