Bio Notes: William Tait Davie was born on 26 September 1924, the son of Charles Long Bowie Davie, proprietor of newsagent and general grocer store, and his wife Helen Gordon McColl Tait. He studied at Glasgow School of Architecture, was elected a student member of the RIBA in 1948 and ARIBA in 1950. By 1970 he had a post with Macmillan & Morrison in Glasgow and was still there in 1979. By 1981 he was working in his own practice William T Davie & Associates.

The practice undertook a wide range of work including schools for Strathclyde Regional Council, housing and modernisation of tenements for Glasgow District Council and Cunninghame District Council; work for the Blythswood Housing Association; layout and supervision of housing developments for Motherwell Dictrict Council as well as the specific jobs noted below.

He had been retired for some years in 1995. He died at Blanefield House, Blanefield on 21 April 2003, survived by his wife Sheila Duncan Black and at least one son who lived in Bridge of Weir.
