He joined Bernard Laurie Matthew and Hamish Haldane Haswell Smith in partnership in 1968. In 1979 he is listed as working with Matthew Hamilton McLean which about that time became Phillips Cutler McLean Troy (Phillips Cutler Phillips & Troy was based in West Bromich). By 1980 he would appear to be working on his own from his home in Currie.
