Bio Notes: David George Hamilton Waugh was born in Glasgow on 1 November 1939, the son of David Stark Reid Waugh, architect, and his wife Evelyne Frances Fell Taylor. He studied architecture at Edinburgh College of Art and was elected ARIBA in 1965.

He was taken into partnership in Sir Frank Mears & Partners in about 1975. In 1985 the practice split to form Hugh Crawford: Sir Frank Mears and David Waugh: Sir Frank Mears. In 1994 his office is given as 44 Northumberland Street which was the old Mears office.

Waugh died on 18 January 2015.
