Bio Notes: Richard Thomas St John Avery studied for the degree of B Arch at the University of Edinburgh. He was awarded the Intermediate Architecture Certificate in 1960. He was elected ARIBA in 1966.

He worked as an assistant to Ian Lindsay & Partners in the 1960s. He had set up in practice with William Andrew Yool as Richard Avery & Associates by 1970. He was practising on his own as Richard Avery by 1980.
