He was elected ARIBA in 1948. He was living in Strathpeffer in 1950. He rose to the position of Deputy County Architect of Ross and Cromarty. He is not listed in the RIBA directory for 1979 or thereafter and may therefore have retired before that date (he would have been 60 in 1974).
He died aged 84 on 10 June 1998.
