Bio Notes: John Merson was born on 29 February 1919, the son of John Merson, farmer, and his wife Jessie Will. He was admitted ARIBA in 1948. His address was in Scone in 1950. In the late 1960s he was working in Aberdeen City Architects Department, with responsibility for large housing developments. There, he was assisted by John Donald. Sometime after 1968, when Donald left, Merson was promoted to Depute City Architect.

Merson died on 4 December 1982 survived by his wife Jean Milne or Barron and their daughter.
