| Bio Notes: | John K Billingham was Chief Architect of Irvine New Town Development Corporation from 1973-1979. He studied for the degree of MArch at the University of Pennsylvania and elsewehere for the diploma in architecture. After his spell in Irvine, he moved to become chief architect and planning officer in Oxford City Council wheere he remained until 1988 when he moved to Milton Keynes as Director of the Development Corporation until 1992. He was a visiting lecturer in urban design and urban planning in the Uk, USA, Canada and Australia. He was an active member of the Urban Design Group in the 1980s. He was living in Abingdon in Oxfordshire in 2001. |
